The Sage in the Moonlight

it is addressed thusly:
A song.
it reads:
The coruscate moon, he thought, tonight
Did offer a glimpse, a glint of its light
Through pane and curtain and blind
A place to light did somehow find
The demure moon, behind cloudy veil
As with the stars the deep heavens sail
To raise mind to high heavenly trail
Unless, unless the sky itself would fail
The motionless moon, against all thought
Did the moon move or should we ought
By right judge motion by our own place instead
Such thoughts as these the moon put in his head.
