The Rain In The Summer

it is addressed thusly:
The sun turns gray / this rainy day
it reads:
A gray coolness sits
Over all this day, and I
Rest like the damp leaves.

Where went the heat here
That wilted and made thirsty
All flesh, and now hides?

Hands reaching for light
In the cool afternoon find
Drink and sag bedewed.
